Information about Borovets

The oldest and the biggest winter mountain resort in Bulgaria is situated at an altitude of 1350 m in the northern slopes of Rila Mountain among age-old woods. It is situated at a distance of 73 km from Sofia and 125 km from Plovdiv. The nearest town is Samokov, 10 km away. The ski tracks of the resort are over 40 km long. The resort offers excellent opportunities for holidays all the year round.  Lots of hotels and holiday villages offer diverse and interesting opportunities for a holiday – open and indoor swimming pools, sauna, fitness centre, table tennis, billiards, bowling. Borovets will offer you interesting activities in the day and in the evening.   

If you don’t ski, you can set out on one of the many routes with an experienced guide to the picturesque places in the Rila Mountain, such as the Seven Rila Lakes, Mount Malyovitsa, Mount Mussala, you can go riding or fishing, or you can just relax in one of the numerous taverns and restaurants in the resort.
