History and Culture
Pamporovo is located in the heart of the Rhodopi mountain range. A mountain full of myths and legends having a marvelous atmosphere along with some of the most hospitable people still playing their bagpipes like hundreds of years ago.

Pamporovo is undoubtedly the diamond among all Bulgarian ski resorts with its magnificent pine forests, springs and sun that seems to never set down.

Even throughout the winter season the climate is mild allowing skiers to enjoy the sun while racing down one of numerous ski runs.

Pamporovo has been accommodating tourists for over 30 years now and is perhaps the last place where modern construction has not spoiled the nature and one can still hear the song of the forests as if the hands of time have turned back.


Winter Activities
Being situated at 1650 m above sea level in the skirts of peak Snejanka (1926 m) Pamporovo combines what’s best in the world of ski resorts – dense forestation, long ski runs, bright sunshine, lots of snow and mild whether with an average temperature of – 3 degrees during the winter season.

   

There are plenty of ski runs to choose from with any degree of difficulty suitable for first year learners down to experienced skiers.

There are excellent conditions for cross country skiing with three tracks for those who prefer to enjoy the calm that nature offers.


After Ski ..
The resorts offers exquisite cuisine with the choice of modern restaurants, taverns (mehana) where one can enjoy the famous bagpipes of the Rhodopi. There are plenty of bars and discotheques for those who like to dance the night away.
All hotels offer swimming pools, sauna, massage and SPA.


Summer Activities
Besides perfect skiing conditions Pamporovo has its appeal in the summer months with perfect hiking opportunities, springs, rich cultural heritage and a number of mineral springs to choose from. Moreover there are a number of locations in close proximity such as the famous Bachkovo Monastery (link or photo) as well as the old city of Plovdiv being just 45 minutes away by car.

   

The city of Smolyan is another must see with its breath taking views over hundred meters high rocks.
