Aneliya Krushkova, Head of the Bulgarian State Tourism Agency announced this week that, the number of foreign visitors in the Bulgarian winter resorts for January and February of 2008, has increased with 23.4% compared to the same period of last year. (2007)
The data is based on a survey about winter vacations in Bulgaria. The survey’s results also show that 78% of all foreign tourists visiting Bulgaria would recommend it as a tourist destination. However, a good number of them expressed their desire for a quieter and more undisturbed vacation at Bulgarian winter resorts and for service staff with better English skills and a more welcoming attitude.
The total revenue from tourism in Bulgaria from the months of January and February of 2008 was 97.8 M EUR. This is a19% increase compared to the same period of 2007.
