Largest Mall in Bulgaria to Open in Varna

Mall Varna, the largest mall in Bulgaria is officially opening its doors on June 12 with a four-day grand opening program to include music performances and fashion shows.

The new mall is located in Bulgaria’s Sea capital at the intersection of the Vladislav Varnenchik and Hristo Smirnenski boulevards, two of Varna's biggest traffic thoroughfare.

The mall has 100 stores, most rented to companies selling brand name merchandise while for some of them the stores would be their first ones in Bulgaria. The mall also has a Piccadilly supermarket, an Arena cinema center wit 8 movie theatres with 1300 seats, 10 bowling lanes, a children entertainment centre and an indoor skating rink. Mall Varna will also have a paring garage with 800 parking spaces.

The mall has a total all-out build-up area of 70 000 square meters, including 33 000 square meters of commercial space. Its 150 stores have already been contracted for the maximum period of ten years.

The Mall Varna was constructed by the Bulgarian Interservice Uzunovi Jsc. and was sold last fall to the Scottish company Miller Developments for 120 million EUR, which was a record for the purchase of a commercial center in Bulgaria as well as the second largest real estate deal in the country.

The British company Chapman Taylor designed the mall, while Cushman & Wakefield and their local partners Forton are handling the property management and leasing services.
