Bulgaria to Attract Wealthy Koreans
Anelya Kruchkova, Director of the State Tourist Agency believes that Bulgaria has the potential to attract many wealthy Korean tourists. Kruchkova has been in South Korea for the signing of an agreement between the Culture and Tourism Ministry of Korea and the Bulgarian State Tourist Agency in the area of tourism. The agreement provides private companies with the opportunity to enter the tourist market and begin active business.
The one big problem for attracting those well-to-do visitors is the lack of a direct flight connection between the two countries.
The tourist industry is actively trying to find a solution and the issue has been discussed with Korean counterparts and with representatives of the Korean Airlines during Kruchkova’s visit. The Korean Airlines and private airline companies are planning for the possibility to organize summer and even winter charter flights depending on the demand on the part of Korean tourists.
Bulgaria has been on the Korean tourist market only for the last two years.
