Seven New Malls to Be Build in Danube City of Rousse

Due to the fact that over 2 million Romanian citizens visit Bulgaria each year with many of them going on shopping sprees in Rousse, investors are planning to build seven new malls in the Danube border city.

Many Romanians also do their monthly grocery shopping in Rousse because, according to them, prices in Bulgaria were 40% lower than those in Romania.

Currently Rousse does not have any malls, however, three of them are expected to be finished in the near future. At least two of the planned seven malls will be finished by 2010 while the total commercial area would include 35,000 sq. meters.

Investors, mainly Israeli ones, plan to build the malls to target mostly Romanians transiting Bulgaria or coming especially to do their shopping in Rousse.

In order to attract those Romanian clients, the Israeli investors plan to invest over 85 million euro.
