Sofia Airport Services 17% More Passengers in July


297,873 passengers have been processed through Sofia airport in July, which is 17% more than July of 2007.

The busiest day registered has been July 29 when almost 10,000 have come through the airport in just one day.

London continues to be the top destination from Sofia airport with a record 41,000 passengers in July, which is 50% more than July of 2007.

Vienna ranks second with a 15% increase and 23,300 passengers.

Frankfurt is the third ranking destination for regular international flights with 20,800 passengers.

The international charter flights also show significant increase - 32%, with 45% more transported passengers.

The summer tourist charter fights of international airline carriers are 88% of all international charter flights.

The cargo processed through the airport is 1703 tons in July, which is an 8% increase compared to the same period of 2007.
