Varna and Sofia Now with Equal Construction Rates

According to data from the Bulgarian National Statistics Institute (NSI) the two Bulgarian cities – Sofia, the capital and Varna, the biggest city on the Black Sea Coast have now equalized the rate of their construction development.

The NCI data further reveals that construction Bulgaria continues to maintain serious rates and is steadily developing despite the global reduction of investments, financial stagnation and mortgage crisis on the world markets.

In the third largest Bulgarian city, Plovdiv, the construction rate is significantly lower – only 19,000 square meters are currently with construction permits.

The city of Plovdiv, however, registers much higher interest in building offices for the local municipal administration – the construction permits for such buildings in Plovdiv are currently 18, compared with Varna, which has 6.

In both cities – Varna and Sofia there are currently construction permits issued for a total of 250,000 square meters. The difference is only in the number of units. In Sofia, 1308 houses and apartments are going to be built on those 250,000 square meters while in Varna this number is higher - 1859.
