40 Million Leva will be invested in Renovations of Plovdiv Airport

According to the Bulgarian Transport Minister Petar Mutafchiev, about 40 Million leva will be invested in the renovation of the airport in the city of Plodviv. The project is going to be completed by the end of the term of the current government - by the summer of 2009.

18 million leva will be provided by Alpha Finance Holding, which owns almost 60% of the airport, and the rest will come from the state budget.

The Plovdiv Airport, which serves as an alternative to the Airport in Sofia, will be awarded a higher class after the completion of the renovation.

The renovation package includes the construction of a new terminal, which will cost about 38 million leva and a blind landing system.
