Real Estate Sector in Bulgaria to Comply with European Standards

According to Maya Staneva, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization, unified European standards, regulating real estate agencies, are going to be established in Bulgaria in the next six months.

The unified real estate standards have been in the works in the last three years; they are currently beyond the public discussions stage, which has been conducted among all of the European Union member states, including Bulgaria.

Bulgaria, as a member state of the EU, would be mandated to comply with the European quality requirements. According to Staneva, the new standards would naturally lead to the elimination of those not qualified to work in real estate.

Maya Staneva spoke during a national conference-discussion dedicated to current issues in the real estate sector in Bulgaria. The conference was held in mid-October under the patronage of the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivaylo Kalfin.
